LAND OF THE ANCIENT CHACHAPOYAS
Come take a virtual journey to the highland jungle of the upper Amazon in Peru with Explorers Club member and friend of the museum, Granis Jane Stewart, as she presents highlights of a recent trip spent exploring archaeological and cultural sites that are not commonly frequented by tourists. Vivid photographs will reveal sarcophaguses with mummy bundles still inside, perched on crevices in limestone cliffs for over 6 centuries; a two tiered waterfall 2,531 feet high that was only rediscovered in 2002; remains of an ancient fortress that is still being unearthed.

Children can enjoy making a holiday gift in our craft workshop.
Refreshments will be provided!
